Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much does it cost to advertise ?
Adverts cost bewteen £12 and £36 per year for standard adverts - Examples of each advert type can be viewed when you create your account. Creating an account costs nothing and there is no obligation to place an advert.
2) Can I place more than one advert?
Yes, of course - but at the moment you have to enter them one at a time and pay for each of them individually. We are working on a system where you can enter the advert once and THEN select multiple categories. This will be available shortly.
3) Do I get a discount for placing more then one advert?
If you would like to place an advert in more than 3 categories then please contact us to arrange a discount.
4) I would to place an advert but can't find a suitable category?
Just let us know what category heading you would like and we will create one for you!
5) How do I place an advert?
Simply click "login" at the top left of the main page. If you haven't already registered you will need to click "need to register?" on the next screen to create an account - this is required to enable you to go back at any time and amend your advert(s). You then simply follow the on-screen instructions to place the advert.
6) How do I pay for an advert?
You can pay for adverts immediately online using your credit/debit card. We use PAYPAL as payment processor but you DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT to do this. Simply enter your credit/debit card details when asked. (This is a secure process that takes place on Paypal's website and not ours - your card details are never revealed to us). Alternatively, you can pay by cheque - instructions are given when you place the advert.
7) Why doesn't my advert show on the site immediately?
When you first place an advert we manually check it for spelling mistakes, mis-typed website addresses and postcodes (required in the correct format to display a map of your location). We have 24/7 customer support so this process usually takes only a few minutes. (At busy times this can be a little longer, but we guarantee the advert will be 'live' the same day it is placed). Once the ad is approved it can amended it at any time and the changes are shown straight away. If you have paid for the advert by cheque, this had to clear before it is shown
8) How big do the pictures need to be that I display with my advert?
Your pictures can be of any size so long as the file is less than 2 Mbytes. The images are automatically resized to fit in the advert.
9) How do you promote your site to customers?
We have set up the site to target brides and grooms who want to find suppliers in a hurry. The most popular search term they use is "Last minute weddings" so we have optimised the site so it is listed on the first results page when this phrase is typed into Google. We also advertise the site via google adwords and in the national wedding publications.
10) How many visitors do you get to the site?
The site started in mid February 2009 and by March 20th 2009 the site had already recieved over 171,000 hits !! (This could be slightly misleading as 'hits' does not mean unique visitors and also we sent out a mailshot to 20,000 wedding suppliers - so a lot of visits will have been made by suppliers and not customers), but we estimate that over 35,000 'genuine' customers (brides/grooms) visited the site in the first 6 weeks of launch. - A remarkable achievment!
